SANTA FE, TX - Thursday a Santa Fe police K-9 alerted to 1/4 pound of marijuana on a traffic stop in the 12300 block of 11th ST in Santa Fe. The driver of the vehicle was a 16 year old Santa Fe
juvenile who was taken into custody for felony marijuana possession.
As a result of the stop detectives pursued a search warrant for a Santa Fe residence suspecting additional narcotics were being kept there.
While the search warrant was being obtained, officers assisted by Agents from the Galveston County Auto Crimes Task Force set up surveillance on the residence.
While monitoring the home in the Santa Fe Trails sub-division, they observed people removing items from the home and placing them in two vehicles.
As the detective was delivering the warrant to the residence, two vehicles left the residence suspected of removing items listed in the search warrant.
Both vehicles were stopped and narcotics and paraphernalia were seized after K-9 alerts on both. A 9mm handgun was also located concealed in one of the vehicles.
Upon execution of the search warrant, more narcotics, as well as paraphernalia was discovered inside the residence.
Police also recovered a stolen ATV valued at $12,000.00 inside the garage of the residence. The ATV was one of three stolen along with a vehicle and trailer in a commercial burglary in La
Porte.
As the result of the stops and warrant, police recovered the stolen ATV and seized almost a 1/2 pound of marijuana, 30 grams of Soma, 20 grams of Xanax, along with unmarked tablets which will be
submitted to the DPS lab for evaluation.
The 16 year old was booked into Juvenile Detention on felony marijuana possesion >4oz < 5 lbs, felony Possession of Controlled Substance > 28 grams < 200 grams, and Felony Theft $1500
-$20,000.00.
45 year old Brian McAdams of Santa Fe was also arrested on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 3 > 28g < 200 grams, he was booked into the Galveston County Jail on a
$30,000.00 bond.
Santa Fe police and Auto Crimes Task Force members will be working with La Porte police regarding the burglary and the ATV thefts. Santa Fe police Detective A. Griswold stated that many people
have been interviewed and he believes additional suspects directly related to the thefts will be charged, as well as those determined to have assisted or provided false information during the
investigation.
